I believe that for many farmers or people of peasant origin, "leech" is a very scary animal. As long as I think of it and see it, I will get flustered in my heart. However, leeches as a kind of traditional Chinese medicine, some people will raise leeches full-time and make considerable profits.

Leeches, commonly known as leeches, have high medicinal value. In recent years, with the in-depth development of the medicinal value of leeches, the scope of application of leeches is more extensive, the market demand is very large, the resources of wild leeches are decreasing, and the price of leeches is rising year by year. Many people think of using artificial cultivation of leeches.

Five advantages of breeding leeches:

1. High and stable yield: leeches are hermaphrodites, each of which can reproduce and the reproduction rate is high.

2. Housewives and the elderly can be raised: after putting in seedlings and enough snails, they only need to control water quality, protect safety, save water, electricity, labor and labor, and one person can manage more than 10 mu.

3. Multi-year income: after one introduction, its natural reproduction can maintain continuous production, so as to reduce the cost and improve the benefit.

4. The benefit is obvious: 2000 leeches are planted per mu, worth more than 15000 yuan.

5. Unlimited scale: large area culture and small area courtyard culture can be used.

Under the inducement of such five advantages, it naturally attracts many investors and breeders, but although there are advantages, the risks always coexist. If you want to make a profit by cultivating leeches, you need to pay special attention to raising leeches:

1. A large number of aquatic plants are released: mainly water hyacinth and duckweed. Leeches are afraid of direct sunlight, so planting a large number of aquatic plants can not only be used as feed for field snails, but also cover the light, and leeches can also lay eggs on them.

two。 Give sufficient feed: about 50 kg of field snails should be put into every 667 square meters of water. In addition, the blood clot of livestock and poultry should be put once a week for leeches, but the clot should not contain salt. In order not to affect the water quality, the blood clot can not be directly put into the water. The blood clot can be placed on the wood block to float on the surface of the water. After smelling the smell, the leech can climb up to pick food, and the blood clot should not be placed for more than two days.

3. Pay attention to escape prevention: anti-escape walls should be built on the periphery of the pond, with a height of more than 80cm and 90cm. The inside of the wall is covered with cement and sand. For 4. After introduction, the leeches should not be put directly into the pond: during transportation, the leeches themselves will produce a layer of mucous membrane as a protective film. You should choose a cool and damp place around the pond and put the leeches inside and let them climb into the pond on their own to reduce death.

5. Note: leeches breed in the soil under the mulch, not in water. During the breeding period, if the water overflows the soil bed for about 7 days, the leech eggs will die due to lack of oxygen, so you should pay attention to it to ensure the success of breeding.

6. Timely capture: the capture period is usually in October. The leeches salvaged are separated by large, medium and small. The large ones are screened out and put back in the pool and left as leeches; the small ones are kept in a pool so that they can be salvaged and sold when they reach more than 15 grams in the second year; the medium ones should be processed into dried products and sold immediately.

In addition to mastering leech farming techniques, there are three key elements, that is, intelligence, financial resources, and material resources:

1. Intellectual investment

(1) to understand the dynamics of leech culture and the information of supply and demand.

(2) master the breeding technology of leeches, learn the initial processing methods of leeches, understand economic accounting, after their own deep investigation and research, and then start breeding, so as to avoid blindness as far as possible and reduce unnecessary economic losses.

2. Input of material resources and financial talents

(1) site fence: length, size and material of site fence

(2) provenance: the provenance of leech can be collected in the field or purchased.

(3) bait: large farms should consider the live food eaten by leeches or prepare animal blood.

(IV) other inputs: hydropower, transportation, medicine, tools and machinery and equipment
