Fig mulberry longicorn beetle is commonly known as buffalo. It is common in fig producing areas and is a major longicorn beetle that harms fig trees. The xylem in which the larvae drill into the branches and stems causes the tree to weaken and grow poorly, which in turn affects the yield and quality of the fruit. The following four prevention and control methods are very effective.

First, capture adults in late July. After Eclosion, adults need to lay eggs in 10-15 days, but they are not active during the day. In the period of high prevalence of adults, especially after rain, the artificial method has achieved remarkable results. 2. The eggs of de-ovulated mulberry longicorn beetles are mainly laid on the sunny side of the branches with a diameter above 2cm, about 10cm away from the branches. When adults lay eggs, they make "Sichuan"-shaped grooves, and only one egg is laid in each slot. Look for the "Sichuan"-shaped oviposition trough in July and August, pick out the eggs and pierce them with a sharp knife. Third, after stabbing larvae hatch, drill a hole in the wood and bite a hole at a distance in order to discharge sawdust and dung. Once feces are found under the canopy or on the branches, sharp iron wires can be inserted from the fresh wormholes and repeatedly pricked into the holes to kill the larvae. It can also be made of steel wire-a spring probe with a pointed hook at the end, which rotates slowly into the tunnel to the bottom to kill the larvae. Fourth, poison the larvae of the first instar. When entering the xylem, use a large syringe to inject the liquid into the insect path; if the larva has gone deep into the branch and drilled into the faecal hole, find out the lowest defecation hole, inject the liquid into the wormway from this hole, and then cut a small wooden stake to block the hole, and the larva can be killed. In production, medicine mud or cotton balls are also used to insert wormholes to kill larvae.
