Plant honeysuckle and grasp the spring tube
Pruning
In spring, honeysuckle first divides into primary branches from axillary buds, and then secondary branches, which can differentiate into four to six branches in a year. The axillary buds of new branches redifferentiate into fertile branches, and inflorescences and flowers are formed on them. If the longer vegetative branches are cut off before budding, the secondary branches will soon be divided and the number of flower buds will be increased. Generally speaking, the flower buds of the first to fourth grade branches can form flower buds, and the branches after the fourth grade can not develop into flower branches due to the decrease of temperature at the end of autumn.
Pruning can cultivate the trunk, make the new branches evenly distributed, ventilated and transparent, expand the crown, produce more flower branches, and improve the yield and quality. The seedlings planted in that year should be pruned in time, go to the top when they are 30-40 cm high, and become the backbone. It produces 3-5 vegetative branches, which are spread out in the form of three or five branches, which are used as first-class branches. When the primary branch grows 5-6 leaves and is 15-20 cm long, leave 3 pairs of strong buds from the base and cut off the front part again to promote the growth of the secondary branch.
Topdressing
Fertilization in spring is dominated by available fertilizer. In the bud, open a shallow ditch to apply dilute dung water or multi-component compound fertilizer, and cover the soil immediately after application. In addition, in order to increase the per unit yield, quick-acting foliar fertilizers such as potassium dihydrogen phosphate and urea can be sprayed on the leaves after each harvest.
During the growing period, 0.1-0.2 kg compound fertilizer was applied to each young tree, and for adult trees without base fertilizer in the previous winter, 0.25-0.5 kg N-P-K compound fertilizer was applied to each tree with strip application or annular ditch application at a depth of 20-30 cm, and covered with soil immediately after application. In order to make the soil fertility lasting and stable, the fertilization methods of applying farm manure in winter, compound fertilizer in spring and foliar fertilizer in summer are advocated.
