Dryopteris prefers a warm, humid and shady environment. Not hardy, growing at room temperature 14 ℃ ~ 22 ℃, overwintering no less than 12 ℃, suitable for fertile, loose, slightly calcareous sandy loam.

It is mainly propagated by ramets, which should be carried out before sprouting in spring, and the rhizome can be cut. During the growth period, keep the basin soil moist and high air humidity, keep it in half-shade place, shade in summer, apply 1 ℃ ~ 2 ℃ dilute nitrogen fertilizer at seedling stage, pay attention not to stain the leaves, the average room temperature should be maintained at 18 ℃ ~ 22 ℃ in the day, 10 ℃ ~ 15 ℃ at night, and the room temperature should be above 12 ℃ in winter to keep the leaves bright green. If it is less than 5 ℃, the leaves will be frozen.
