Salty taste, warm nature, return to the liver, spleen and kidney meridians, with the function of regulating qi and relieving pain, warming the kidney and strengthening yang. It is clinically used for epigastric pain, chest distension, sore waist and knees, etc. Now research shows that nine incense insects also have anti-cancer effect. Nine incense insects are not only used as medicine, but also an important raw material for nourishing health products, with high demand and high economic value.

Breeding ground

Nine incense insects take the juice of melon plant rattan as food, and their culture methods can be caged indoors or in the field.

1. Indoor cage culture: according to the width of the site, the size of the scale, the flexibility to determine the culture area. The cage can be made of wood or steel with a length of 6 meters, a width of 4 meters and a height of 2 meters. The five sides of the cage are closed with nylon yarn, the bottom is opened, and a small door is opened on one side of the cage, which is convenient for operation and inspection. Gourd plants are planted in cages for nine incense insects to eat.

two。 Field cage: still using three-dimensional cage, the size of the cage can be determined according to the actual situation, generally made into a cage with a length of 20 meters, a width of 10 meters and a height of 2 to 3 meters, which is closed with nylon yarn. If large-scale breeding is needed, more cages can be set up. Gourd plants are planted in cages to feed insects.

Culture method

The captured adults are released in the feeding cage and let them absorb the rattan juice by themselves, and complete the reproductive processes such as mating, spawning and hatching in the cage without manual management. After the nymph hatches, pay attention to prevent the storm, so as not to blow the nymph from the vine to the ground and cause a large number of deaths. Especially for 1st and 2nd instar nymphs, more attention should be paid to them.

The adults and nymphs of the nine incense insects are herbivorous and feed on the juice of melons and vines, so enough melons should be planted in cages according to the number of plants raised. It is observed that nine incense insects like to suck the juice of pumpkin vines most, so it is appropriate to plant pumpkins in the cage. In order to ensure a large amount of juice of melons and vines, we must pay attention to fertilizing the plants and watering them frequently. Overwintering management of nine incense insects to adults overwintering, in the breeding cage need to set up a suitable overwintering site. Generally placed in the cage slate or cement slabs, slabs and the ground should have a certain space, so that adults in the slate or cement slabs under the winter. The ground should be kept moist, neither dry nor flooded. Some straw can be padded on the board to prevent the severe cold and let the adults survive the hibernation period safely.
