Andrographis is an annual herb with a bitter taste and is suitable for cultivation in southern provinces.

Habits: it is a plant of "four joys and one fear", that is, it likes warmth, moisture, sunshine, fertilizer and drought.

Site selection: the nursery land and planting land should choose sandy soil with flat terrain, leeward to the sun, convenient drainage and irrigation, loose and fertile soil, andrographis paniculata is not suitable for planting in dry and alkaline soil.

Cultivation: andrographis paniculata was propagated with seeds. The suitable temperature for seed germination was 25-30 ℃, and the germination potential decreased significantly below 20 ℃, but could not germinate below 15 ℃. When sowing in February and March, it will take about one month to produce all the seedlings. In April, when the temperature was about 20 ℃, the plant began to grow. The growth period is 150 to 200 days. The main diseases are quenching disease, blight, blight and black stem disease, insect pests are African mole cricket.

Harvest: andrographis paniculata can be harvested continuously after sowing once. It is generally mastered in the early harvest of unflowered or present buds (andrographis paniculata has the highest content of total lactone). The seeds are beaten and the whole grass is bundled, which is the medicinal material of andrographis paniculata. It is harvested twice a year, and the first harvest is at the beginning of the bud around August. This harvest should retain 2 or 3 branches. Continue weeding, loosening the soil, fertilizing and watering after harvest to make it sprout again and harvest for the second time around November. After the harvest, manage the old man's seedlings for the winter, weed, cultivate the soil and fertilize in the spring next year, so that they can continue to grow.
