Strong seedlings are the basis of high yield. Ophiopogon japonicus seedlings with different qualities had great effects on the yield of hairy root, ramet and root tuber after transplanting. According to the comprehensive evaluation and comprehensive consideration of the quality of Ophiopogon japonicus seedlings, disease-free and insect-free seedlings with short plants, dark green leaves, well-developed roots, 15-20 green leaves per plant and 0.7 cm thick rhizome should be selected.

Seedling treatment must be done well before planting. The specific method is to loosen the Ophiopogon japonicus seedlings after lifting the soil. According to the requirement that the stem base of Ophiopogon japonicus seedlings is 0.5 cm long or stem base (commonly known as chrysanthemum heart), and the leaf length is 5-7 cm, cut off the tuber root and the overlong fibrous root, and remove the overlong leaf. Then separate individual plants, 10-15 individual plants were selected according to the standard of strong seedlings in biennial cultivation, and the seedlings were aligned at the base and tied into a bundle with a single straw to become a kind of plant cluster. Then, put it in wet soil or soak the seedling root in shallow water to make it absorb enough water and wait for seed.
