Introduction of specific sowing methods of American ginseng

American ginseng is sown in spring and autumn.

1. Spring sowing: in Northeast China, the soil can be thawed in late April, split seeds are used in spring sowing, and seedlings can emerge in early May. Seeds can be sown early in other areas.

2. Autumn sowing: before the soil is frozen, most of the sowing methods can be 5 cm × 5 cm and 5 cm × 6 cm according to local conditions. Practice: flatten the border surface, then press the hole continuously from one end of the border with a wooden hole press, sowing 1 seed in each hole, covering soil 3cm, or sowing directly with a seeder, and gently pressing the border surface with a lath after covering the soil, so that the soil seeds are in close contact.

Spring sowing should maintain humidity and temperature on straw covered between rows; autumn sowing should cover fallen leaves and cover cold protection, which should be removed in the next spring, but straw should still be covered between rows.
