The 2017 Taiwan Lantern Festival was witnessed by Yunlin County Mayor Li Jinyong, Tourism Director Zhou Yonghui of the Ministry of Communications, and Chiayi County Mayor Zhang Huaguan on the evening of the 19th, as well as the admiration of the whole audience. Li Jinyong, the county magistrate, first expressed his apologies and gratitude to all the people who supported the 2017 Taiwan Lantern Festival for their strong support for the 2017 Taiwan Lantern Festival. As a result, the festival achieved 13.6 million visitors and more than 10 billion yuan in economic benefits, and the overall satisfaction of tourists was as high as 90%.
County Mayor Li Jinyong said that the 2017 Taiwan Lantern Festival has made six pioneering achievements: first, the area is the largest, with a total light area of 50 hectares, the largest in history; second, the largest number of volunteers, with more than 10,000 volunteers in history; third, the first new residential lantern district to show Yunlin's respect for multiculturalism; fourth, the most local amorous feelings, the lantern festival combined with art pavilion, puppet show, to create the most Yunlin flavor lantern festival style. Fifth, create the first environmental theater, which clings to the main axis of the friendly lantern festival and shows the characteristics of Yunlin people and pro-land; sixth, the Lantern Festival has the most thorough environmental protection work, whether it is garbage collection or sorting, all let visitors praise this is the cleanest lantern festival in Taiwan.
