1. Intermediate ploughing and weeding: weeding should be done in time after the seedlings come out, so that there are no weeds in the field, three shovels can be carried out for ridge planting, and weeds should be removed for border planting. This is the key to high quality and high yield. If possible, herbicides can be closed before emergence after sowing, and the field is sprayed with 2 bags / mu of 2 bags / mu of wettable powder (20% chlorosulfuron) and 4 bottles / mu of Acetochlor. After emergence, the herbicide that kills monocotyledons can be sprayed to eliminate weeds.

2. Seedling fixing: the height of weeding seedlings in the middle tillage is 5 cm, the distance between seedlings is 6 cm 7 cm, the height of seedlings is 5 cm 10 cm, and the distance between seedlings is 10 cm 15 cm. Planting and raising seedlings on the border can be denser, with a plant distance of 3-5 cm.

3. Topdressing: combined with ploughing and weeding, 2000 kg of barnyard manure per mu, mixed with 15 kg of superphosphate. Put in the furrow and wade on the ridge. Foliar fertilizer can also be sprayed to increase yield.

4. Irrigation: although licorice is a deep-rooted drought-resistant plant, it is not strong in drought resistance because of its shallow roots in the seedling stage. Therefore, in case of drought at the seedling stage, we should timely irrigate and water in order to protect the water supply at the seedling stage. It is seldom irrigated at the adult stage. Attention should be paid to the drainage in the rainy season from July to August so that there is no stagnant water in the field to prevent rotting roots.

5. Pick buds: 3-4 years old blossom. The plots that are not used as seed fields should pick buds in time at the flower bud stage to prevent the consumption of nutrients, increase the yield of roots and improve the quality.
