Premier Lin Quan: promoting New South orientation and promoting bilateral Cooperation in Education
After listening to the report of the Ministry of Education on the handling of the New South − Talent training Program at the Executive Yuan meeting yesterday (9), Premier Lin Quan said that the current education policies related to the "New South orientation" have yielded preliminary results, and the Ministry of Education is requested to grasp the needs and objectives of the New South countries in talent training and industrial development, and implement them. And try to promote bilateral cooperation and complementary human resources with these countries, so as to have a substantial impact and effect on China's overall economic development and close relations with the new southward countries.
The Ministry of Education said that the program has three major objectives, including "providing a quality education industry", "two-way training of professionals", "expanding bilateral talent exchanges" and "expanding the platform for bilateral education cooperation". It is estimated that from 106 to 109, the number of students studying in Taiwan from New South countries will grow at an annual growth rate of 20%. The number of students studying in Taiwan will reach 58000 in the school year.
