Land selection and preparation

The brown forest soil with wet, fertile and loose texture should be selected for seedling cultivation, and the sandy loam with deep soil layer, loose texture and fertile soil should be selected for transplanting. The texture is sticky and the land with low-lying stagnant water is not suitable for planting. Before planting, deep ploughing, raking fine, leveling, applying sufficient bottom fertilizer, make a high border, the width of the border is 1.5 meters, and the length of the border depends on the topography.

Planting method

1. Raising seedlings

Seed collection and seed treatment: the seeds are harvested at the end of August and the beginning of September every year, remove impurities, dry in the sun, and then mix the seeds and clean sand with water at the ratio of 1:5, with a humidity of 60-70%. Carry on cold treatment, wait for sowing in the next spring. Seeds should not be stored for a long time to prevent the germination rate from decreasing.

Sowing: on the finished border, trench is opened according to the row spacing of 6 cm, the ditch depth is 1 cm, the treated seeds are scattered evenly in the ditch, and then covered with soil. The sowing rate is 3 kg per mu. Can also use rhizome propagation, generally select the rhizome with buds, cut into 3 cm segments, according to the seed seedlings, row spacing trench, put the rhizome into the ditch, cover the soil, fill and press.

Rhizome propagation: in autumn or spring harvest, select the rhizome with buds, cut into small segments, the section has 1-2 buds. Strip planting, according to row spacing 33cm trench, ditch depth 15-17cm, wide 15cm, put the rhizome horizontally in the ditch, every 8-10cm, cover soil fertilizer or fine soil 14-16cm, watering.

2. Transplant in the first ten days of April. On the finished border, trench is opened according to the row spacing of 30 cm, and the planting is discharged into the ditch according to the plant spacing of 15 cm, and then covered with soil to slightly expose the Reed head.

3. Field management

Seedling management: Notopterygium seedlings are afraid of light, should build a shed to shade, early seedling should not be weeded; after the growth of true leaves combined with intermediate tillage for weeding, at the same time topdressing, mostly human feces and urine, stable manure is better. Rainy season, pay attention to drainage, lest stagnant water cause rhizome rot, winter seedlings can be cultivated after the winter, generally can survive the winter naturally.

Transplanting site management: topdressing phosphate fertilizer once a year, about 100 kg per mu, often weeding, buds should be removed in the bud stage to facilitate root growth.
