Last Updated: 2024/11/22, First, error area 1, not all meat grows in the desert, so you can't have the idea of "watering once every half a month". Although it is true that many succulent plants grow in the desert, this does not mean that.

1. Error area

1. Not all meat grows in the desert, so you can't have the idea of watering it once every half a month. Although it is true that many succulent plants grow in the desert, it does not mean that all succulent plants are drought-tolerant. Many succulent plants are hybrid horticultural varieties and still need to be nourished by water.

2. Many people think that succulent plants are afraid of water, so when they water succulent plants, they only water the surface slightly, only wet the soil surface, but not thoroughly. In this way, it is easy to cause succulent roots to be distributed on a very shallow surface, which is not conducive to the healthy growth of succulent plants. Of course, watering can not be too much, otherwise succulent is easy to black rot.

Second, judge soil moisture

When the soil in the succulent basin becomes slightly dry, it is time to water the succulent plant, so how to judge the moisture of the soil? There are mainly the following methods.

1. Insert the bamboo stick into the succulent soil, then pull it out, and judge the soil moisture according to the bamboo stick. This method should be careful not to hurt the succulent roots.

2. Lift the succulent basin to feel the weight. If the soil moisture is different, the weight will be different. Of course, this method is more professional, and novices are advised not to use it.

3. Observe the color of the soil surface. If the soil surface dries and the color changes obviously, then it is time to water. Of course, you can also observe the succulent state. If the succulent leaves are wrinkled and soft, it must be watered.

The time of watering

The ideal state of watering is that the soil in the basin remains moist and the succulent plant can absorb the water it needs, but it will not accumulate water and rot because of too much water. Therefore, the time to water succulent is also very fastidious.

1. Generally speaking, the spring and autumn season coincides with the growing period of succulent plants, when succulent plants begin to sprout and take root, which requires a large amount of water and needs more watering. Water should be controlled in summer and winter, especially in winter, when succulent plants enter a dormant state. As long as the soil inside the basin is kept moist, there is no need to water too much, so as not to turn things to extremes.

2. There is also the time for watering every day, and it is generally most appropriate to water around 10: 00 in the morning, especially in summer, when the temperature rises after 10: 00, and watering can easily lead to damage to succulent roots.

3. There are many factors that affect the watering time of succulent plants. For example, if the indoor environment is well ventilated and the temperature is high, the frequency of watering can be increased; if the flowerpot is relatively large, the watering times can be appropriately reduced; and the succulent plants in the growing period have relatively high requirements for moisture, which can appropriately increase the times of watering succulent plants.

The method of watering

1. Water from top to bottom. This is the method we use most often. It is to spray water evenly on the soil of the flowerpot with a kettle or spray pot, and try to wet the soil in the pot until the water flows out from the bottom of the pot. This is a method that we often use to water, which can not only fully wet the soil, but also let the waste gas from succulent roots follow the water, which is conducive to the better growth of flowers.

2. Soak the basin. The soaking pot is to use a container larger than the succulent flowerpot, fill it with water, and then put the flowerpot in it. The height of the water should not exceed half of the flowerpot. When soaking the pot, we should pay attention to prevent the poor air permeability of the soil in the flowerpot. Generally speaking, there are several cases of soaking the basin, one is that the plants grow luxuriantly, covering the soil, and there is no way to water the succulent plants from top to bottom, and when succulent plants are just beginning to grow, it is easy to crush their fragile, newly growing stems or roots. In this case, it is better to soak the basin to replenish water.

3. Sprinkler irrigation. This method is usually the watering method used in the flower shop or inside the greenhouse, but this method is not recommended at home, because the sealed environment is not conducive to plant growth after all. Therefore, I will not elaborate on it here.

Five: matters needing attention

1. Don't water at noon. Especially in high temperature, watering at noon can easily lead to succulent root damage and irreparable trauma.

2. When watering, it is best not to dip water on the succulent leaves, otherwise it is easy to cause succulent leaves to rot, which is not conducive to the growth of succulent plants.
