The scientific application of manure and urine fertilizer in the pharmaceutical field can improve the disease resistance of medicinal materials, reduce the content of nitrate and improve the quality of medicinal materials. However, it is worth noting that if the manure and urine fertilizer is directly applied on the medicinal plants, it will also pollute the medicinal materials and lead to the spread of bacteria. Therefore, it is necessary to apply manure and urine fertilizer properly.

Pre-application treatment. In order to effectively kill parasitic eggs and infectious bacteria in manure and urine fertilizer, harmless treatment must be carried out before application. Usually, high temperature composting and septic tank sealing can be used. Poison treatment can also be used, that is, fecal and urine fertilizer can be treated with substances that are toxic to parasites and bacteria, such as adding 200 milliliters of formalin to every 100 kg of manure, sealing for 1 day or adding 50% trichlorfon tablets for 2 days, or urea 1 kg for 3 days. Where possible, fertilizer accumulation can be combined with biogas fermentation, and it is best to apply transformed organic fertilizer and biogas dregs.

Ditches and holes were used to fertilize. According to the plant size of medicinal materials and the wetting condition of the soil, it is necessary to dilute the water, open ditches or dig holes to cover the soil, prevent the loss of fertilizer and improve the utilization rate of manure and urine fertilizer. When manure and urine fertilizer is applied in the seedling stage, the concentration should be dilute and the dosage should be less to avoid burning the seedlings. In addition, human urine contains high salt, which should not be applied to taboo medicinal materials, such as turmeric, sand ginger and Amomum villosum, so as not to affect the quality of the product.

Avoid using sewage dilution fertilizer. Sewage contains a large number of bacteria, eggs, poisons and heavy metal ions, which can easily induce diseases and insect pests, cause soil pollution, and even affect crops in the next season. Therefore, whether industrial sewage or domestic sewage, without harmless treatment, can not be used as medicinal materials and fertilizer to water.
