Notes on the use of traditional Chinese medicine patchouli chemical herbicides:

1. Selection of chemical herbicides

Attention must be paid to the selectivity, specificity and timeliness of chemical herbicides, and should not be misused or misused to prevent the killing of herbicides.

2. Strictly control the limited dose.

The use of herbicides should be based on the specific soil quality, considering the farmland microclimate, and strictly according to the dose range, concentration and dosage specified in the drug instructions. For example, the general barren sandy soil herbicide application permeability is very large, medicinal materials are vulnerable to drug damage, the dosage should be small, or even avoid drugs; good soil moisture in rainy season, low dose should be used; weeds sprout neatly, low density, the dose should be smaller; plastic film mulching due to good temperature and humidity conditions, the dosage should also be reduced.

3. Reasonable mixed use of medicament

When two or more herbicides are mixed, the proportion, application time and spraying technology should be strictly mastered, and the antagonism or other side effects should be considered. A small amount can be taken for miscibility test first. if precipitation, flocculation, delamination, floating and deterioration occur, indicating that its safety has changed, it can not be mixed. In addition, attention should be paid to the synergistic function of the mixture, such as the herbicidal efficacy of the mixture of herbicide and paspalum is greater than the sum of the herbicidal efficacy of the two single agents, and the dosage of the mixture should be reduced (generally less than 1 pound of each single dose) to avoid drug damage and ensure the safety of medicinal materials.

4. Use it correctly

Grasp the best time and technical operation points of herbicide application, properly preserve the herbicide, prevent misuse, and do a good job in cleaning spraying utensils, so as to avoid misuse and cause drug damage to other crops.

5. Pay attention to the influence of environmental conditions on herbicides

Temperature, water, light, soil type, organic matter content, soil tillage and soil preparation level and other factors will directly or indirectly affect the weeding effect of herbicides.

6. Flexible use of drugs

When weeding by soil method is carried out at the base of medicinal plants, it should be carried out under the condition of no dew, so that the stems and leaves will not come into contact with the chemical solution; for chemicals sensitive to the germ of crop seedlings, the soil treatment should cover the seeds before sowing and improve the sowing quality as much as possible, and appropriately increase the sowing amount; because of the large seedlings and young weeds, some transplanted herbs can be concentrated on the ground 20cm to 30cm away from the medicinal plants. Protective application of herbicides with poor selectivity or contact herbicides, that is, the solution is directly sprayed or poured on the soil surface, do not touch the medicinal plants as far as possible, and can not be applied when the plants are exuberant and the green leaf area is large. If conditions permit, measures such as irrigating in dry land, moist paddy field and film mulching should be taken as far as possible before sowing and transplanting, so as to make weeds germinate ahead of time and then be killed with pesticides, so as not to affect the growth and quality of medicinal materials after transplanting.

7. Other

At present, there are no herbicides specially used for medicinal materials on the market, and most of them are herbicides borrowed from crops, such as vegetables and fruit trees. therefore, herbicides must be purchased and weeding operations must be carried out under the guidance of experts or technicians with practical experience, so as to avoid economic losses and adverse consequences.
