Diseases and insect pests of Ophiopogon japonicus and its control:

(1) Black spot

The pathogen is a kind of half-known fungus in fungi. at the initial stage of the disease, the leaf tip turns yellow and spreads downwards, resulting in water-immersed spots with different colors of green and white, and all the leaves turn yellow and die in the later stage.

Control method: ① selected disease-free seedlings, before planting with 1:1: with double Bordeaux solution, or with 65% Dysen zinc wettable powder solution soaked for 5 minutes. ② strengthens field management and removes stagnant water in time. During the onset of ③ in the field, the diseased leaves could be cut off and sprayed with 100-fold Bordeaux solution, once every 10 to 14 days, 3 times in a row.

The pathogen is a root-knot nematode of the phylum Nematoda. It mainly harms the root, causes gall tumor, shortens the fibrous root of Ophiopogon japonicus, and the root surface becomes rough, cracked and reddish brown in the later stage. When the swollen part is cut open, a large number of milky bright balls can be seen, that is, the female adults.

Control methods: ① implements crop rotation, where conditions permit, it can be rotated between flood and drought, avoiding rotation with flue-cured tobacco, purple yunying, beans, taro, sweet potato, melons, Siraitia grosvenorii, Atractylodes macrocephala, Salvia miltiorrhiza, belladonna and other crops, preferably with Gramineae crops. ② selected disease-free seedlings and cut off the old roots. ③ selected disease-resistant varieties, such as Ophiopogon japonicus, Ophiopogon japonicus and Ophiopogon japonicus in Suining, Sichuan. ④ soil treatment can be controlled.
