The Shilin official residence Park, which you are familiar with, has roses, orchids and chrysanthemums, but do you know that there is a vanilla garden hidden in the Shilin official residence? In order to enable public friends to see and smell different vanilla plants, the "Exhibition of vanilla plants in Shilin official residence" was held at the Vanilla Garden from May 16 to May 31 to provide them with a good place to heal before summer.
Huang Liyuan, director of the Park Department, said that the Vanilla Garden of Shilin official residence is located next to the main residence of Chiang Kai-shek Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-ling Shilin official Mansion. It was originally a turf area built in 2003 with an area of about 500 square meters. It is a small and quiet garden with materials such as driftwood and European-style flower bowls with rosemary, peppermint and other vanilla plants, creating an European-style garden atmosphere. This vanilla plant exhibition takes 12 zodiac animals as the theme to find out the corresponding plants, such as pink calyx "rat" tail grass, "oregano", "tiger" ear grass, moon "rabbit" ear, "rabbit" foot fern, "dragon" spit bead, "snake" berry, "horse" ringbell, "horse" orchid, "sheep" milk plum, "monkey" grass, "chicken" shit vine, "dog" tail grass, water "pig" breast milk, etc., to create another kind of garden landscape full of wisdom.
On the warm May Day, citizens might as well use the holiday to invite family and friends to stroll in the elegant and fragrant vanilla garden and enjoy a sensory feast of relief and relaxation by touching, smelling and observing different herbs.
Exhibition of vanilla plants in Shilin official residence
The exhibition will be held from Tuesday, May 16, 106 to Wednesday, May 31, 106, from 8am to 17:00 and from 19:00 on holidays.
