Gao Liang Jiang Xi Wen is afraid of waterlogging, drought tolerance and high yield cultivation skills.
Alpinia officinarum is planted in soil, which likes warmth, is afraid of waterlogging and drought, and is slightly shady. Often interplanted or interplanted with pineapple, cassava, citronella and sisal. The quality of fertile and loose sandy loam is the best.
Select five-sided land with good drainage or fertile and loose sloping land, first cut down weeds and burn them into ash on the spot to make fertilizer, and then turn 40 cm to 45 cm deep. After the soil is fully crushed by two ploughs and two rakes, 2500-3000 kg of soil fertilizer per mu is applied as base fertilizer, and there is no need to make beds.
Seeds can be planted and seedlings can be transplanted, or roots can be planted directly. The latter method is mainly used in our province. Because Gaoliang ginger has two cultivated species, "chicken ginger" and "Niu ginger", there is no difference between the two plants, but the former has small rhizome and the latter has large rhizome, so "Niu ginger" is often used as seed to obtain high yield. The planting method is as follows: when alpinia officinarum is harvested from April to June, all the underground parts after cutting off the stems and leaves are dug up, and the young rhizomes of "Niu Ginger" with 5 or 6 bud heads connected together are selected as seeds (the old rhizomes are dried separately as products). Plant in trenches or holes in the prepared planting land according to the specification of plant and row spacing of 45 × 75 cm, put 1 piece of ginger in each hole, bud head up, put seeds while filling mud, and then cover fine soil 5cm to 6cm thick.
Field management planting in late spring and early summer can germinate and grow in about 60 days, and weeds should be weeded once in the same year. After weeding in the second year, ploughing ditches were used to loosen the soil, and then weeded once or twice a year. If the basal fertilizer has been applied at the time of planting, topdressing is rarely carried out in the future. The experiment shows that proper topdressing after planting is beneficial to improve the yield and product quality. In order to improve the land utilization rate, some short-term cash crops are often intercropped at the young stage.
