Pinellia ternata alias three-leaf Pinellia ternata, three-step jump, Ma Yuguo, to tuber medicine, as a commonly used Chinese herbal medicine. Due to the decrease of its wild resources year by year and the insufficient volume on the market, there is a large gap between market supply and demand in recent years. Therefore, there are broad prospects for developing Pinellia ternata production. According to the production experience, taking the following five measures in cultivation can increase the yield of Pinellia ternata by more than 25%.

1. Sprouting before sowing and plastic film mulching at seedling stage. Pinellia ternata is generally sown from February to April in spring, when the temperature is low and the stem germinates slowly. Therefore, seed stem germination can be carried out in the indoor hotbed before sowing, and the budding temperature can be kept at about 20 ℃ and sprouting in 15 days. The seed stem can also be placed outdoors in a plastic greenhouse of 20: 25 ℃ and treated continuously for 15 days. When the coleoptile is white, the seed stem with bud head is sown into the ground prepared in advance and covered with plastic film, which only needs to be covered between the rows planted with seed stem, and can be removed after the seedlings are complete.

two。 Timely irrigation and drainage, timely topdressing. Dry Pinellia ternata likes to be moist, fertilizer-tolerant and afraid of stagnant water. Before planting, the planting land should be watered once to facilitate seedling emergence. It is necessary to keep the soil moist during the seedling growing period, irrigate in time in case of drought, and drain in time in the rainy season to avoid dying seedlings due to stagnant water in the field. Farm manure is the main fertilizer. In addition to sufficient base fertilizer, topdressing should be applied twice during the growing period. The first time is from late May to early June. When buds grow in the lower part of the petiole, 2000 kg of mature human and animal manure and 25 kg of rotten cake fertilizer are applied every 667m2 (1 mu) between rows. For the second time, when the new buds appeared in the son Pinellia ternata and the mother Pinellia ternata shelled and grew new roots in August, 20 kg of rotten cake fertilizer, 15 kg calcium superphosphate and 10 kg urea were mixed evenly every 667 square meters, and then applied under the plant. Combined with fertilization to cultivate the soil to choke.

3. Select semi-shady and semi-sunny sloping land or intercropping with stalk crops. Pinellia ternata is a shade-tolerant crop with good growth and high yield in shade environment. Therefore, the planting land should choose the gentle slope land with half shade and half sun, or interplant between the rows of young fruit trees, and the tall stalk crops such as corn and wheat can also be planted on the border of Pinellia ternata.

4. Remove the buds. About 2 months after sowing in Pinellia ternata, the plants will bolting and blossom one after another and consume nutrients. Therefore, in addition to keeping seeds, flower buds should be removed in batches in time to concentrate nutrients on underground tubers so as to accelerate tuber growth and increase production.

5. Delay the fall of the plant. In the case of high temperature and strong light in dry Pinellia ternata, the seedlings will naturally fall and stop growing. Therefore, delaying the fall of seedlings is an important measure for high yield of Pinellia ternata. According to the production experience, in addition to taking appropriate measures of shading and spraying (irrigation) water to reduce the light intensity and air temperature, 0.01% sodium sulfite solution can also be sprayed appropriately to reduce the intensity of plant respiration, so as to delay or reduce the number of seedling falling, so as to achieve the purpose of increasing production.
