The main results are as follows: (1) the cause of the disease is that Chinese yam is rich in starch, and wet rot is the most common disease during storage. The symptoms are as follows: the two ends of the diseased potato begin to turn red, gelatinous mucus flows out and then grows white fine hairs (fungal hyphae), which further turns yellow, the flesh color turns yellow, and finally causes the tuber to rot. Causes: ① harvest broken, broken, moth-eaten tubers into the cellar, infected by mold to make the wound red, secrete mucus, and gradually cause rot; ② storage environment is high temperature and humidity.

(2) Prevention and treatment methods ① should avoid all kinds of damage as far as possible during harvest and dry after harvest, and pick out the damaged tubers or store them for a short period of time; ② should disinfect the storage cellar (warehouse) and packaging containers, strengthen ventilation during storage, regulate appropriate temperature and humidity, and prevent high temperature and humidity; ③ can seal the cut tubers with lime, plant ash, etc., to prevent wound expansion and bacteria invasion.

In the later stage of yam storage, the tuber epidermis grows buds the size of soybean grains, which is the product of normal physiological activities of yam, which will not affect the product quality and will not cause decay.
