Taichung City Launches Sightseeing Bus
Praised by foreign websites as "a must visit at least once in a lifetime," Taichung Gaomei Wetland is full of tourists every holiday. The Taichung City Transportation Bureau plans three Gaomei Wetland Holiday Sightseeing buses to serve tourists. The first 655 bus from Lingdong University of Science and Technology has been in service since April 8, and the second 688 bus from Qingshui Railway Station will also be launched on May 27. Taichung City government recommends that people who go to Gaomei Wetland take more sightseeing buses to get there faster.
Transportation Secretary Wang Yichuan pointed out that the Transportation Bureau had started planning to build three new holiday sightseeing buses at the end of last year. The first 655 bus started service on April 8, stopping at Wuqi Tourist Fishing Port, Windmill No.9, Gaomei Wetland, High-speed Railway Station (Taiwan Railway Xinwuri Station), Rainbow Village, Lingdong University of Science and Technology and other stations. Article 2 No.688 will be officially launched on May 27. It will depart from Qingshui Railway Station and stop at famous tourist attractions in Qingshui District such as Port Art Center, Gaomei Wetland Visitor Center, No.18 Windmill (Cross-sea Landscape Bridge), No.9 Windmill and Wuqi Tourist Fishing Port along the way. In addition to cooperating with the departure of Taiwan Railway, it will also adopt the concept of cruise ship in Gaomei Wetland Visitor Service Center and depart regularly, so that passengers can master the ride time and experience the scenery at ease. The third route,"Gaomei Wetland-Taichung Railway Station," is under intense preparation by passenger transport operators and is expected to open in the middle of this year.
According to the Transportation Bureau, since the number of visitors to Gaomei Wetland can reach 100,000 in a single month, and important sightseeing facilities such as Gaomei Wetland Visitor Service Center and Cross-sea Scenic Bridge have been completed for six consecutive years, combined with public transportation services, it is convenient for tourists to plan one-day trips.
