Choose convenient drainage and irrigation, deep soil, rich in humus, loose and fertile sandy loam soil, over-sticky or over-sandy soil should not be planted. After selecting the land, apply rotten stable manure or compost 3-5 tons per mu as base fertilizer, turn over 20-30 cm thick soil layer, plough fine and flat, and make a high border, with a width of 1-2 m, a width of 33 cm and a depth of 13-16 cm. 1500~2000kg per mu of base fertilizer, 100kg of cake fertilizer and 25kg of superphosphate were spread on the border and covered with soil.

The land that has been planted with Fritillaria thunbergii can not be planted for 3 times, otherwise it is easy to get diseases. It can be rotated with previous crops such as corn, soybean, sweet potato and so on.
