Chinese wolfberry is mainly ornamental fruit, and the red fruit covered with branches in autumn is really lovely. The fruit of Chinese wolfberry has high medicinal value, such as tonifying liver and spleen, nourishing blood tomorrow, kidney and waist and so on.

Lycium barbarum is a tufted shrub with many branches and slender drooping, which is distributed in the north and south of our country. It is also yin-tolerant, cold-tolerant and drought-tolerant, avoiding waterlogging and growing in calcareous soil with good drainage. The root system of Lycium barbarum is well developed, easy to sprout, the flowers are funnel-shaped and lavender, the florescence is from June to October, and the natural florescence is concentrated in May-June and September-October.

Although the flowering period of Chinese wolfberry is long, it is not easy to bear fruit when the temperature is high, but it is easy to bear fruit when the climate is cool. During cultivation, the florescence can be controlled by artificial picking leaves to achieve the purpose of multi-fruit. It is generally suitable to pick leaves in August, but in order to prolong the viewing time, leaves can also be picked in late July and properly reshaped to trim some of the overdense branches of the same year. After picking leaves, the temperature is relatively high for a period of time, so you should pay attention to spraying water and keep it moist. Apply fertilizer and water twice after picking leaves, and start to send new leaves about a week later. At this time, in addition to normal fertilization, 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate should also be sprayed on the leaves, twice a week, which can blossom and bear fruit in about 20 days. If artificial pollination is carried out with a brush during flowering, the effect is better. It is necessary to apply more phosphate fertilizer after fruit setting, and keep the soil moist to avoid being too dry and too wet, so as to prevent fruit falling. After discoloration, stop applying fertilizer, and the fruit will mature gradually after a month.

Lycium barbarum cutting is easy to survive, both twigs and old branches can be used, and sowing and ramet methods can also be used to propagate.

Lycium barbarum should be planted before germination in spring, and the management during the growing period should be extensive. After applying base fertilizer once in winter, it can be topdressing 2-3 times in the growing season. Pruning to "get rid of the old and retain the new", trim off the dense branches, old branches, dead branches, so as to maintain a good tree shape and exuberant vitality.
