In order to market the honey industry in Taichung City, the Taichung Municipal Bureau of Agriculture this year commissioned the Waipu District Farmers' Association to undertake honey evaluation activities. after preliminary evaluation of drugs, general ingredients and pesticides, as well as sensory evaluation on the 20th, the evaluation results were released. Six bee farmers, including Chen Qinyu, won the special prize, and six bee farmers, including Wang Zhiwei, won the first prize, and the award-winning honey will be named "Taichung Honey."

In order to enable consumers to buy pure and selected honey on the market, the Taichung Municipal Bureau of Agriculture will pass various safety tests, and the honey selected by experts and scholars will be named "Taichung Honey China."

This year, the Waipu District Farmers' Association will undertake honey evaluation activities, but due to abnormal climate, honey production has decreased significantly this year. The honey participating in this competition came from five beekeeping production and marketing classes mentored by Taichung City Government and Wufeng, Taiping, Waipu, Dali District, and so on. A total of 16 beekeeping production and marketing classes were tested, such as drugs, general ingredients and pesticides. A total of 12 passed the re-evaluation, 4 failed.

Through the preliminary evaluation, on the 20th, the Agriculture Bureau hired experts and scholars such as Miaoli Agricultural improvement Farm, Agriculture and Food Administration, and Taiwan Beekeeping Association to carry out sensory evaluation with rigorous procedures. Six bee farmers, including Chen Qinyu, Li Meiman, Luo Minzhi, Zhao Xiufeng, Liu Dingjia and Lin Xiuyun, won the special prize; the first prize went to Wang Zhiwei, Wang Chaoli, Zheng Jinyi, Liu Jianzhi, Song Weiting, Zhu Baotang and other six bee farmers.
