Sanyuan pig has strong stress resistance and obvious heterosis. At present, the most widely used breeding plan in China is A × (B × C), An is the terminal boar, B is the female parent, C is the maternal parent, in which An is Duroc, B is Landrace, and C is large White. In many cases, BC can also be interchangeable, including inner ternary pig and outer ternary pig. Now let's take a look at the difference between the outer ternary pig and the inner ternary pig.

What are the categories of Sanyuan pigs?

1. Outer ternary: the three varieties are all introduced from abroad, such as Landrace, Landrace, Duroc and so on.

2. Inner three yuan: among the three breeds, there are one or two Chinese varieties, such as Landrace, large White, Northeast Min Pig and so on.

3. Soil Sanyuan: the three breeds are all local breeds in China, such as Neijiang pig, Rongchang pig, Diannan small ear pig and so on.

The difference between outer ternary pig and inner ternary pig

1. Outer three-yuan: the female parent, the first male parent and the second male parent are all exotic pigs, and the three-way hybrid lean pigs are produced. Generally speaking, the boars of Landrace breeds are matched with sows of large white breeds. When the sows in the binary hybrid grow up, they mate with Duroc boars, and the offspring are called ternary hybrids.

2. Inner three yuan: take the local excellent sow as the female parent, generally use the Yorkshire boar as the first male parent, cross to produce the first generation hybrid sow, namely binary sow, and then use Duroc or Landrace boar as the second male parent to cross with binary sow to produce ternary hybrid pig.

Cross combination of Outer Ternary Pig

1. Du grown-up: Landrace boar × Yorkshire sow → crossbred sow, Duroc boar × crossbred sow → du Landrace three-way hybrid pig.

2. Du Dachang: Yorkshire boar × Landrace sow → Landrace sow, Duroc boar × Landrace sow → Duroc Landrace three-way hybrid pig.
