Putian Black Pig is a population gradually formed by long-term breeding of the hybrid "Big ear Pig" introduced by Fuzhou and "Little ear Pig" introduced by southern Fujian Province. it is mainly produced in the northwest of Putian, Xianyou and Fuqing City in Fujian Province, with medium size and shallow chest. It has the characteristics of precocious, wide adaptability, large number of cubs, strong motherhood and so on. Let's take a look at the breeding techniques of Putian Black Pig.

Appearance characteristics of Putian Black Pig

Putian black pig has a medium-large body, a narrow head, a slightly concave face, a diamond-shaped forehead, equal size and thinness in the ear, a peach-shaped, slightly forward pendent, moderate neck length, shallow and narrow chest, flat or slightly concave back and waist, slightly tilted buttocks, underfullness of the hindquarters, round and drooping belly, lateral skin of the back and waist, high limbs, sparse gray-black coat, and 7 pairs of nipples.

Breed performance of Putian Black Pig

Putian black pig has the excellent characteristics of precocious maturity, wide adaptability, tolerance to rough feeding, strong disease resistance, large number of cubs, strong motherhood, docile temperament, delicate and delicious meat. The average weight, length, chest circumference and height of adult boars are 126.04 kg, 131.5 cm, 120.75 cm and 79 cm respectively. The average weight, length, chest circumference and height of adult sows are 77.37kg, 116.99 cm, 100.37 cm and 63.9cm respectively.

Breeding techniques of Putian Black Pig

1. Piggery construction: Putian Black pig sheds should not be too luxurious, as long as they are cold-proof, warm and ventilated. Gourd, melon, melon, sunflower and other plants can be planted outside the pig house in summer and autumn to shade and cool down. Promote plastic greenhouse feeding technology in winter.

2. Breed selection: Putian black pigs should be selected according to market demand. At present, it is necessary to promote multivariate crossbreeding, at least three yuan, preferably five yuan, such as British PIC pigs, five-line matching, fast growth rate of 110kg in 158days, an inner lean rate of 66%, and a feed-meat ratio of 2.8 1.

3. Breeding density: a fattening pig is raised in a pig house of 0.8 square meters in winter and a fattening pig in a pig house of 1 square meter in summer, with high density, which not only has few pens and low cost, but also fattening pigs compete for food. If there is no playground to eat, then sleep, like to gain weight, gain weight quickly, and reduce the cost of raising.

4. Feed configuration: feed accounts for 70.75% of the cost of raising pigs. The feed formula should change with the market price and season, and should not remain the same. If pigs eat less in hot summer days, the feed should be nutritious. Feed nutrition should be balanced to meet the growth needs.

5. Feeding and management: Putian black pigs should be raised scientifically, feed should be rationally matched according to different uses, different ages and growth needs of pigs, management should be strengthened, hygiene should be improved, and diseases should be prevented. We should pay attention to disinfection, not only to prevent external diseases, but also to prevent fecal pollution, spread the disease, but also according to the immune procedure to inject vaccines.

6. Timely fencing: when the weight of binary pig reaches 70kg, the weight of inner ternary 80ml is 85kg, the outer ternary 95kg, the British PIC pig 105kg, it is the timely body weight. In addition, when the market price of live pigs is high, the heavier the weight is, the better. When the price is low, it is better to have a lighter weight, so as to reduce feed consumption and reduce costs.

7. Timely slaughtering: the daily gain rate of Putian black pigs slows down obviously and is dominated by fat deposition after more than 90kg, so the more it is fed, the more uneconomical it is, and the more fat meat is increased, so it is difficult to sell. Slaughtering less than 90 kilograms, although the feed utilization rate is high, but the meat yield is low because of low body weight, and it is not cost-effective economically. Generally, it is most suitable for finishing pigs to be slaughtered with 90kg and 120kg.
