Neijiang pig is one of the national key protected local breed resources, belonging to the southwest type pig breed, which is an excellent local pig breed in China. It originated in Neijiang City, Neijiang County and other places in the middle of Sichuan Basin. The central producing areas are in Shizhong District and Dongxing District, Neijiang City, Sichuan Province. China listed it in the "National Livestock and Poultry breed Resources Protection list" in 2000. Let's take a look at Neijiang pig breeding techniques.

Breed advantage of Neijiang Pig

Compared with other pig breeds, Neijiang pig has the following advantages. First, it has strong adaptability, strong resistance and tolerance to cold climate and extreme poor nutritional conditions. Second, the combining ability is good and the heterosis is obvious. Third, the disease resistance is strong, and the sensitivity to many diseases is lower than that of foreign pigs. Fourth, strong motherhood, obvious estrus, basically no reproductive obstacles. Fifth, the meat is delicious. In addition, Neijiang pig also has the characteristics of genetic stability, tolerance to rough feeding, temperament and so on.

Breeding Feed of Neijiang Pig

Most of the feed of Neijiang pig depends on field planting and agricultural by-products, and the concentrate is corn, silkworm coin, Bashan scare and so on. the green feed is sweet potato vine, cowhide vegetable, Tianxing moxa, Yichuangting, buckwheat seedling, Bashan bean seedling and Jieshao sugar, pea pile, soybean bran, succulent feed such as pumpkin and carrots, and dry coarse feed such as broad bean bran, pea bran, soybean bran and so on. In addition to the raw feeding of pigs in state-owned farms, most of the pigs are cooked in rural areas, the young green materials are generally chopped and fresh, the thicker and older parts are chopped and mixed with coarse and green materials and then fed, and the dry coarse materials are soaked and softened or boiled for soft feeding. Some dried potatoes and broad bean seedlings are used for silage or air-dried storage.

Stage feeding of Neijiang Pig

1. Boar feeding: the local breeding boar is carefully fed 4 times a day. Corn, pea, broad bean and dynamic coarse feed are commonly used in the mixed concentrate in the diet. During the breeding period, the boar should be properly fed with concentrate.

2. Sow feeding: the masses have rich experience in raising pigs based on green coarse fodder, and use concentrate according to different stages of sows to adjust their nutrition level.

3. Piglet feeding: piglets generally begin to feed at the age of 20 days. First, the fried peas are soaked in salt water and placed outside the loop. after the piglets are fed, the concentrate is boiled into gruel, fed three times a day, and some are fed raw. During bimonthly weaning, each piglet consumed about 13 kg of concentrate and 15 kg of green feed. The piglets used for fattening were castrated at about 40 days old, which was close to the weaning period, and the amount of green feed gradually increased to cultivate roughness tolerance.

4. Fattening pigs: fattening pigs are generally fattened by "hanging rack". The diet with a body weight of 12kg and 20kg at the age of 60-90 days is mainly concentrate and green feed, which is slipped near the enclosure every day. Shelf pigs weighing 25 to 40 kilograms take full advantage of the strong roughness tolerance of Neijiang pigs and are fed only green coarse materials or a small amount of agricultural products. After weighing 50 kg, start to add potatoes and seeds to fattening.
