Taichung will hold the World Flower Expo in 2018. In order to promote floral activities, the Taichung Municipal Bureau of Agriculture coached the Xitun District Office to hold a flower competition. The competition works will be on display at the Xitun District Office from now to July 7, hoping to introduce flower art into daily life and build Taichung into a garden city.
A total of 12 teams took part in the flower art competition. A few days ago, Liu Zhongkai's work "City Garden" won the first place; the second place was "LIKE Flower Expo" by Guo Zhe Dong, Wang Chengyu and Zhang Jiawei; and the third place was "Persimmon things are going well" by Wang Jintai and Jiang Mingxian.
Taichung Municipal Bureau of Agriculture pointed out that the flowers used in this competition are limited to fresh cut flowers, potted flowers and cut leaves, and Taichung City's characteristic flowers account for more than 60%. Including sword orchids, flamingos, colored sea taros, stars of Bethlehem, lilies, national orchids, Phalaenopsis, Platycodon grandiflorum and Oncidium, etc., the contestants used creativity to create floral scenery, and the works were exhibited in the square in front of the Xitun District.
The Taichung Municipal Bureau of Agriculture said that it hopes to introduce flower art into life through flower art promotion activities, increase people's love for flowers, invigorate the flower market, and warm up for the upcoming 2018 Flower Expo.
