Mouse spots, also known as green spots, mackerel, hunchback bass, etc., are fish of the genus Lateolabrax, which are distributed in the reef areas of the Indian Ocean. They can grow up to 50 centimeters and grow very fast because they are easy to raise. They will live a long life on the premise of ensuring that there is enough room for growth. Most different foods can be fed in the aquarium. Let's take a look at the culture methods of rat spots.

Grow fish and raise

The source of mouse spot fish is generally caught in the sea (must be domesticated before mating and insemination) or obtained by artificial culture, and the fresh mixed fish meat (fish with high protein and low fat is the most suitable) are fed every day, and the feeding amount is 50% of the body weight of all species of fish. In addition, in order to accelerate the maturation of gonads, Vitamin E (10 mg / kg, once a week) can be added to the diet. In order to improve the physical strength and health of breeding fish, VitaminC and B-complex (50 mg / kg, once every two weeks) can be added.

Breeding fish mating

The breeding fish can be prepared for mating when the egg diameter of the female is more than 5 mm and the number of mature sperm of the male is enough. The preparation for mating is mainly to control the hydrological conditions of the breeding pond. The method is to lower the water level to a depth of 50 cm at 8: 9 in the morning and raise the water temperature by 1 ℃ after 5 hours and 6 hours. In order to achieve this condition, fresh sea water is injected to a depth of 2.5 meters at 2 pm, and the pool water is allowed to circulate continuously throughout the night. This treatment must continue until the breeding fish are in estrus and mate.

Fish egg hatching

1. Collection: the fertilized eggs are collected with a collection net at 7: 00 in the morning, then the eggs are washed with quiet sea water, and the washed fertilized eggs are moved to the water tank for counting. The fertilized eggs of mouse spots are floating eggs, the color is transparent, the color of unfertilized eggs is dark, and most of them are sunk at the bottom, so they can be easily distinguished and must be removed by siphon so as not to affect normal eggs.

2. Hatching: when the fertilized eggs are moved to the hatching pool, the density is about 10: 50 eggs per liter of sea water. When the water temperature is 26: 28 ℃, it takes about 10: 20 hours to hatch the larvae. The next day, the unhatched eggs at the bottom of the pond must be removed by siphon, and the larvae are carefully moved to the breeding pond with a ladle. The fertilization rate, hatching rate and survival rate of newly hatched larvae are closely related to the quality of eggs.
