In fact, whether sheep have horns has nothing to do with gender, but has something to do with the species, some kinds of ewes have, some do not.

Breed classification of sheep

1. Thin short-tailed sheep: the tail has no obvious fat deposition, and the tail end is above the hocks, such as Xizang sheep, Romanov sheep and so on.

Types of use of sheep

1. Fine wool sheep: fine wool sheep are mainly raised for wool production, accounting for about 10% of the world's sheep breeds. The capillarity of the whole body is less than 25 microns, the number is not less than 60, and the hair length is more than 7 centimeters. It is an excellent raw material for the manufacture of fine textiles. Due to the different breeding objectives and local natural conditions in different countries, it can be divided into three types: wool, wool and meat and meat and wool (see Merino sheep).

2. Semi-fine wool sheep: meat production is the main breeding purpose of semi-fine wool sheep, accounting for about 33% of the world's sheep breeds. It is widely distributed all over the world, accounting for about 48% of all sheep breeds. Mongolian sheep, Xizang sheep, Scottish black-faced sheep in England, and many local breeds in Africa and Asia all belong to it. 4. Fur sheep: the fur produced by fur sheep has the characteristics of good ear of hair, large skin, light leather board, beautiful finished product, strong and so on. Tan sheep in China is the best breed of fur production in the world.

5. Lamb skin: the lamb skin is slaughtered within 1-2 days after birth. The fur has beautiful curls and patterns and is rich in luster. It is famous for the lambskin produced by Karakur sheep. China's lake lamb skin also enjoys a reputation in the international market.

6. Dairy sheep: dairy sheep are mainly used for milk production, such as East Fry sheep in Germany, which can produce 8 to 1000 kilograms of goat milk in one lactation cycle. Dairy sheep, fur sheep and lamb all belong to coarse wool breeds.

7. Meat sheep: dairy sheep are mainly used for meat production, such as Suffolk sheep and Duper sheep. Suffolk sheep are the largest meat breeds in the world with early maturity and rapid growth. Dupo sheep is a widely distributed mutton sheep breed because of its large physique, nearly barrel-shaped body and rapid development in the early stage.
