Recently, many flower friends have left messages that their gardenia flowers have appeared a lot of yellow leaves and fallen leaves after changing pots! Today I will tell you about the problem of changing gardenia pots!

First of all, I told you a few days ago that there are two kinds of gardenia on the market, one is coconut bran or peat soil, the other is clay!

If what we buy is coconut bran or peat soil, and it is still blooming, then we are not advised to change the pot when we buy it home, because when changing the pot, no matter how careful it is, it will more or less damage the root system, which will not only affect flowering, but also appear yellow leaves and fallen leaves! So we'd better wait for the flowers to fade before changing!

Secondly, if it is bought into a clay gardenia, if you do not change the pot, it is estimated that it will be very difficult to raise well in the later stage, so you can only change the soil and basin for it! But when changing the basin, it is best to soak the original soil with clean water to reduce the damage to the root system as much as possible!

Moreover, the soil must be loose, breathable and nutritious. Peat soil can be used with perlite or river sand, or fermented pine needles can be planted directly!

Third, whether it is changing the pot after the flower fades, or changing the pot when you buy it home, do not fertilize it, because the nutrients in the basin soil are temporarily sufficient to maintain its growth, and if you fertilize it again, it will increase the burden on the root system. if it is light, it will be yellow and fallen leaves, and if it is heavy, it may burn out the roots!

In addition, if the flowers fade and then change the pot, we'd better prune the branches and cut off some too dense and weak branches, so as to reduce its absorption of nutrients! After pruning, cover the gardenia with a bag to moisturize, and then put it in a cool and ventilated place to recover in about a week or so!
