Litchi in Taichung City Successfully Expands Marketing Channel in Brunei
Taichung City Agricultural Bureau has assisted Fengyuan District Farmers Association to market fruits to Brunei for many years. The quality is excellent and stable, which is deeply loved by local consumers. In late June, the black leaf litchi production season will first try to sell 2 tons to Brunei, which has won wide support from local media and consumers. It is expected that another 1 ton of litchi will be shipped on July 20. At the same time, 5 tons of peaches, 4 tons of grapes and 3 tons of pears will be exported to Brunei, striving for more export space for Taichung farmers.
Taichung City Agricultural Bureau pointed out that due to suitable natural conditions, the agricultural products produced in Taichung City are highly competitive in the market, and fruits can be sold in turn all year round. Taking the summer fruit litchi currently in mass production as an example, cold chain treatment technology can be added after harvest to extend the shelf life of litchi for up to 21 days, thus improving Taiwan's agricultural competitive advantage. At present, it has successfully expanded Brunei marketing channels.
In addition to litchi, peaches, grapes and pears will be exported to Brunei on July 20, providing more diversified choices for local consumers, hoping to drive Brunei consumers to consume Taiwan's agricultural products.
Taichung City Agricultural Bureau said that Taichung fruit quality is excellent, has successfully established "Taiwan Taichung" brand awareness in Brunei, this year more integration of summer production of high-quality agricultural products in various districts of Taichung City, lychee, peach, grape, pear and other high-cash crops to Brunei, and in the local supermarket set up "Taiwan Taichung" summer fruit area, to let Brunei local consumers better understand Taichung.
