Hydroponic culture, not only can appreciate the beauty of plants, but also can see the plant roots, clean and hygienic, and do not have to worry about watering. So how to change plants from soil culture to hydroponic culture?

The steps are as follows:

1. Dilute concentrated liquid

The soilless cultivation nutrient solution sold on the market should be clearly explained when using the soilless cultivation nutrient solution, and the water should be diluted in accordance with the prescribed multiple. In general, the concentrated solution can be diluted 100 times with water.

2. Take off the basin and wash the roots

Dig out the selected flower plants from the soil or gently pour them out from the flowerpot to make the root soil fall off and reveal all the roots. Then soak in water for 15-20 minutes, gently wash the root with hands, after 2-3 times of water cleaning, until the root is completely soil-free, the water for washing the root is clear and transparent and does not contain sediment.

3. Root soaking absorption

Soak the cleaned roots in a nutrient solution for 10 minutes to allow the roots to fully absorb nutrients.

4. Select the matrix

Vermiculite can be used as the cultivation substrate alone, or according to the air permeability needs of different plant roots, different proportions of perlite and fine sand can be added to vermiculite to form a matrix with air permeability, water conservation, fertilizer conservation and easy fixation.

5. Upper basin and infusion

Wash the flowerpot, place tiles or fill the bottom hole with plastic yarn, then put a little perlite and vermiculite in the pot, then put the plant into the basin and fill the root system with light ores such as perlite and vermiculite. Gently shake the flowerpot to make the ore close to the root system. Immediately irrigate the prepared nutrient solution until there is an outflow from the bottom hole of the basin.

6. Strengthen the root system

Use quartz stone, axe chopping stone and other pieces on the root system to strengthen the root system and avoid lodging. At the same time, spray some water on the leaves.

7. Maintenance and management

The requirements of light, temperature and other conditions for the bonsai of soilless cultivation are the same as those of soilless culture. during the plant growth period, the nutrient solution is irrigated once a week, and the amount of flowers with slow leaf growth is reduced according to the plant size, and once every 15-30 days in winter or dormancy period. Indoor foliage plants can survive in low light and reduce the amount of nutrient solution, which can also be used for foliar spraying to promote growth. At ordinary times, we should pay attention to timely watering.

8. Root pruning

The root can be trimmed directly with scissors, cut short to the overlong root and remove the dead root from the aging root, so as to maintain the lasting activity of the root, and after pruning can obviously promote the division and growth of branches and leaves, in addition, pruning the root system can keep a certain space for the root system to stretch and grow, otherwise the root system is too developed and the space is relatively dense, which will lead to rotting root phenomenon.

9. Hydroponics maintenance

The suitable growth temperature of hydroponic plants is above 5 degrees above zero and below 30 degrees, mainly scattered light. Generally speaking, we can use the special nutrient solution for hydroponics sold on the market, and match the appropriate concentration according to the instructions. Change the water every 5-10 days in spring and autumn, about 5 days in summer and 10-15 days in winter.
