Fifth, first coarse then fine: feed roughage first, cattle will be hungry and eat more roughage. After that, concentrate or high-quality forage is fed according to its nutritional needs, which can give full play to the role of roughage and save forage.

Sixth, transform the trough: if the trough is too shallow, the cattle will waste the fodder outside when grazing. Make the trough deeper. Waste can be avoided. Generally speaking, the depth of the cow trough is about 40 cm.

Seventh, leftover grass processing: in the past, the coarse and hard stalks left by cattle were often burned as fuel. If they were collected after drying, crushed into grass powder by a grinder, and then fed to cattle, the stalks could be used effectively.

Eighth, save bedding grass: keep the shed clean and hygienic, and try to use abandoned weeds as mat grass for cattle, so as to reduce the waste of forage grass.

Watch the cattle graze: many cattle farmers just put the forage into the trough when feeding the cattle, so that the cattle can get the forage out of the trough when grazing, and the ground grass can no longer be fed after the cattle trample on it. Therefore, the breeders should watch the cattle eat the forage and then leave, and find that the forage falls to the ground and is put away in time to feed the cattle, which can save a lot of forage.
