Gardenia is in full bloom is the current hot item in the flower market, but the price is much higher than usual. in fact, if you want to raise more pots of gardenia, in addition to direct purchase, you can also use the method of cutting to propagate, of course, if there is at least one pot or a friend's home to raise, many people may feel very difficult at the thought of cutting. in fact, cutting is in all the plants that can be propagated. I have never seen anything easier than cutting gardenia. I will introduce the cutting method of gardenia to you today!

Time of cutting:

If you use hydroponics, you can do it all year round, because if you put it indoors, you can create an environment and temperature. the best time is from early June to early August (that is, the current period), and from early October to mid-November. this period of time can be either soil planting or hydroponics, these two periods are called summer planting and autumn planting respectively, and the summer and autumn planting temperature is relatively high, which is easy to root, but not so good in winter.

Tools required:

A container of water (cups, any bottles and cans, mineral water bottles), preferably transparent glass, can see the clarity of the water, so that the water can be changed at any time, and the growth state of the root can also be observed.

1. Select branches:

This step is actually the most important, this step is done, half of the success, gardenia branches to choose 1-2-year-old branches, too young easy to rot, too old and not easy to root. Skin color bright green, pest-free, strong growth is the most basic condition, it is recommended to choose a few more water culture together.

The selected branches generally have three nodes, the leaves on the bottommost nodes are removed, and only 1-2 leaves are left on the upper two nodes, which reduces transpiration and is conducive to photosynthesis. if the branch is selected in the middle section, the upper section is cut flat by 1-2 cm. The root system begins to grow from an oblique cut. Insert the cut branches into the prepared bottle. As it is hydroponic, it is not necessary to consider the cultivation medium, just put clear water in the container and replace it at any time to avoid incision decay.

2. Hydroponics:

Choose a hydroponic container, preferably a deeper one, insert the gardenia cuttings directly into a transparent container and change the water every 2 to 3 days.

3. Wait patiently:

About half a month, hydroponic gardenia will grow roots, and then prepare a disposable cup, add 1 big 3 of water and a small amount of fine soil in the cup, and then soak the gardenia seedlings in water, continue to add fine soil, all the way to the desired position.

4. Slow seedling:

Now you only need to put the planted plants in the shade and slow down the seedlings for a week without watering. Wait until the seedlings are alive, choose the soil to dry, cut the cup, and then move it to a large basin. Be careful not to destroy the soil ball. This method of putting the seedlings on the pot can ensure the smooth survival of the water-inserted branches.

Note:

The container should be placed in a place where the light is bright and there is no direct sunlight. The clear water only needs to be replaced every few days. The specific time depends on the specific situation. There is no need to change too often so as not to get new young roots. If the cuttage is from June to July, the average temperature is 22-26 degrees, and the roots can grow in 2-4 weeks.

Migration:

When the root system grows to 7 cm, it can be transplanted. Seedling transplantation can be carried out according to the routine, one hand to hold the seedlings, the other to gently spread the root system on the medium, hold the plant to fill in the soil, use the soaking method to make the medium moist, and place it in a ventilated place with bright light and no hot sun. The soil should be kept moist and fertilized only after 3 pairs of new leaves grow and move into the semi-sunny place.
