Wen County 2 Million Pepper Crowdfunding Project Officially Launched

On June 19th, the e-commerce entrepreneurial team, composed of Wenxian Renhe Agricultural and sideline products Co., Ltd. and university student village officials in Qiaotou Town, launched the crowdfunding project of "Wenxian Zanthoxian Pepper Qianli Ma Xiang, Green Industry helps Poverty Alleviation" officially launched, with a target amount of 2 million yuan.

Qiaotou Town, as one of the main producing areas of Zanthoxylum bungeanum in Wenxian County, has a planting area of 5200 mu and an annual output of 240t. The finished product of Zanthoxylum bungeanum has bright color, thick skin and rich meat, crisp, mellow and good quality, which is deeply loved by consumers and sold all over the country. Zhang Peng, secretary of the party committee of the town, said that in the preparatory phase of the project, the company signed contracts with 1370 poor households growing Chinese prickly ash, and will give priority to purchasing pepper products at higher than the market price, so that the vast number of poor families can get real benefits. At the same time, agricultural technicians are also organized to guide pepper farmers on fertilization, weeding and other links to ensure product quality.

"We have launched e-commerce crowdfunding projects to give priority to the sale of pepper products from poor households. And 90% of the funds raised by the crowdfunding should be returned to poor households to ensure a steady increase in their income. " Ren Fuquan, manager of Renhe Agricultural and sideline products Co., Ltd., said that at present, the company has formed an industrial management model of "company + peasant household + base + e-commerce transaction". More than 60 jobs will be created and more than 60,000 farmers will directly benefit from the company.

In order to make this crowdfunding campaign a success, the people's Government of Wenxian County endorsed the project and recommended it, promising all participants and supporters that pepper in Qiaotou producing area of Wenxian County is an original, natural and green seasonal agricultural product. It is also guaranteed that it will work with the staff of the crowdfunding Network to monitor the smooth implementation of the project until its successful conclusion.

It is understood that so far, the planting area of pepper in Wenxian County has reached 250000 mu. By the end of 2016, an area of 116000 mu of fruit had been hung, helping to increase the per capita income of farmers in pepper producing areas to more than 1900 yuan. Zanthoxylum bungeanum industry has become one of the pillar industries in the county.
