Hu Weijun, a second group of rice farmers in Lianhua Village, Liumao Township, Jixi City, released 400 Cherry Valley ducks into the rice fields, which is a new duck-rice co-breeding model implemented by Hongyang rice growers' professional cooperatives this year.

Duck-rice co-breeding model is one of the ecological three-dimensional planting and breeding models, which makes them interdependent and mutually beneficial by providing a good environment for symbiosis between animals and plants. The excellent rice varieties with compact plant type, strong tillering ability and strong resistance were selected to release ducks after the slow seedling in the middle of June. the duck age was about 45 days, and the ducks were harvested at the initial stage of rice filling. The "rice-duck symbiosis" planting model is that ducks prey on pests instead of pesticides, ducks feed on weeds instead of herbicides, duck feces as organic fertilizers instead of chemical fertilizers, and ducks produce the effect of ploughing and mixing water to stimulate rice growth. through this combination of cultivation and cultivation, rice production is promoted from relying mainly on chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides to give full play to the comprehensive ecological functions of paddy fields. Make the scale intensive breeding more in line with the natural breeding of duck living habits, raise ducks more in line with the requirements of consumers, produce high-quality rice and high-quality duck meat without the application of chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides, raise ducks in the fields, promote rice with ducks, and make the symbiotic growth of ducks and rice, which is not only green, ecological and environmental protection, but also can achieve a bumper harvest of rice and ducks.
