New Taipei Mayor Zhu Lilun welcomes aborigines
"106 New Taipei City Aboriginal Cultural Activities" entered its climax on the 22nd. The Ami leaders led the aborigines to hold a New Year's ceremony to thank the ancestors for protecting the lives, work and family of the people. Mayor Zhu Lilun was also present to wish the activities a smooth success and welcome the aborigines from all over Taiwan to regard New Taipei City as their new hometown.
Mayor Zhu Lilun said that today is an important event of the annual indigenous ilisin, and indigenous people from all over the world are welcome to gather in the Citizen Square to celebrate together. Welcoming, entertaining, and sending spirits is a way for the aborigines to carefully pursue the future. It also expresses the spirit of respect for ancestors and ancestral spirits among the aborigines. It is hoped that under the leadership of the chief leader, the traditions of the aborigines will continue to be passed on.
According to the Bureau of Aboriginal Affairs, ilisin is an important annual ritual of the Ami people. In order to enable the people who have left their native tribes for many years to relive and learn traditional ritual culture in New Taipei City, the city government holds a grand event every year to gather indigenous people scattered in New Taipei City. It not only gathers feelings, but also reminds the people not to forget the cultural roots of the indigenous tribes.
