Taichung Waipu District is famous for its high quality agricultural products. Taichung Municipal Bureau of Agriculture Counseling Waipu District Public Office held the "106 Industrial and Cultural activities of Rice, Taro, hairy Crab and White Bamboo Shoots in Waipu District" on the 29th at the High-speed Railway Qiaoxia Park next to the Stone Park in Guizi Community. With the theme of "Taro Crab Wine Festival in Waipu", special agricultural products are marketed.
Cai Qichang, vice president of the Legislative Yuan, said that autumn is the fat season for hairy crabs, but few people know that the hairy crabs raised in Waipu are of very good quality. In fact, many connoisseurs come to Waipu to order hairy crabs, and demand falls short of supply almost every year. He also said that Taiwan has a very high demand for food safety in recent years. By holding local marketing activities to market local agricultural products, it can increase the income of farmers and enable people to eat delicious, safe and healthy food.
Wang Ruiqing, chief secretary of the Bureau of Agriculture, said that the Waipu District Farmers' Association held the Waipu Taro Crab Wine Festival for three consecutive years, and held agricultural products promotion activities in conjunction with leisure agriculture in the local community, with good results over the years. As Waipu has abundant water resources in Daanxi, the Agriculture Bureau has recently actively assisted the second phase of rice cropping to turn into white bamboo shoots with high economic value. at present, it has been harvested one after another, encouraging people to try more fresh food.
