Last Updated: 2024/11/09, In order to solve the problem of rotten roots of longevity flowers, we must first take it out of the basin soil, clean the soil, remove the rotten roots with scissors, disinfect the incisions of the roots, put it in a ventilated place, and then cut off the buds so as not to consume nutrients, and then hydroponics, and so grow new roots and put them into the basin soil for maintenance.

First, remove the rotten roots

The longevity flowers should be removed from the pot soil, the soil on the roots should be cleaned, and then the rotten roots should be removed with scissors, which should be disinfected in advance. As long as the brown roots are cut off, cut to the stem where there is no rot on the line. Otherwise, it is easy to aggravate the rot due to unclean handling.

Second, disinfect the roots

After removing the rotting area, disinfect the incision on the root and apply it to the root with carbendazim to avoid re-infection, and then put it in a ventilated place.

3. Pruning

If the longevity flower grows out of the bud, it should be cut off in time. If you keep it, it will consume more nutrients and be disadvantageous to rooting again, but its leaves must be retained to promote the roots of branches to grow healthier and faster. Proper pruning is very beneficial for it to grow again.

IV. Re-cultivation

Longevity flowers can also be cultured in water, it can easily grow new roots, about 15 days, its roots will grow, and then put it in the pot soil for normal maintenance. Usually maintenance should pay attention to the amount of water not too large, fertilization should be appropriate, do not give it unripe fertilizer, do not excessive fertilization, so as to avoid the phenomenon of rotting roots caused by fertilizer damage.
