This year marks the 100th anniversary of the discovery of Taiwan cherry hook salmon. In order to expand the population and distribution of Taiwan cherry blossom hook salmon, the Xueba National Park Management Office of the Construction Department of the Ministry of the Interior released 1000 Taiwan's national treasure fish, Cherry Hook salmon, in late October this year. In the upper reaches of Hehuan Creek in Taroko National Park, salmon are allowed to return to the historical stream. Interior Minister Ye Junrong said that protecting precious species such as national treasure fish and strengthening the implementation of ecological conservation is one of the core policies of the Ministry of the Interior. In the future, it will continue to combine local forces and work with tribal community partners to promote fish conservation, so that the Hehuanxi ethnic group will become a healthy and self-propagating satellite population.

Minister Ye Junrong listened to the report on "working Plan for the release of Taiwan Sakura Hook Salmon in Taiwan Sakura Hook Salmon in 2017 Xuelba and Taroko National Park" on the 2nd, pointing out that Taiwan Cherry Hook Hook Salmon is a first-class conservation wild animal. It has been 100 years since its discovery, as early as 1917 (AD) Takeo Aoki discovered in the stream near Huanshan Society, 1919 (AD) Oshima Zhengman and Dr. Jordan named Salmo formosanus after Taiwan. In the past, the number of ethnic groups was the lowest, leaving only more than 200 in 1984. After the establishment of the snow management office, it actively carried out related rehabilitation work, and in 1996, it successfully reached the first stage of on-site rehabilitation work.

Since 1997, the National Park has stepped into the second stage of extraterritorial conservation, striving to find suitable historical habitats for release, so as to expand the distribution of national treasure fish. at present, two satellite populations of healthy and self-propagating Luoyewei River and Leshan River have been successfully established.
