Last Updated: 2024/11/05, There are two planting methods for ornamental lotus flowers: seed planting and lotus root planting. Seed planting should break the seed skin in advance, often change water when planting, and transplant after budding; separate lotus root should be planted in March-April, the seed lotus root should be oblique into the soil, and then placed in the sun, after budding, the water level should be deepened to 3-5cm.

I. seed planting

Select appropriate ornamental lotus seeds, wear out the concave end of the seeds on the cement ground, soak the seeds in warm water and wait for seedlings. In the process of germination, we should often change the water, keep the water quality clear, and sprout in about a week. When the root grows to 10cm or so, we can transplant one plant in each pot, the water layer should be about 3-5cm, and the lotus leaves should not be submerged in water.

Second, split lotus root planting

1. Choose to plant from March to April, and mix the basin mud into a paste before planting.

2. When planting, insert the lotus root head 20 degrees obliquely into the mud along the edge of the basin. Keep the head low and the tail high, so that the tail is half warped, do not let the end of the lotus root into the water.

3. After planting, the soil was exposed to sunlight, and cracks appeared on the surface of the soil, that is, after the lotus root was completely bonded with the soil, a small amount of water was added. After the bud grew, the water level was gradually deepened and kept at 3-5cm.
