Last Updated: 2024/11/05, The florescence of rhododendron varies according to variety and conservation environment. Generally speaking, the florescence of the eastern cuckoo is about New Year's Day, and that of the western cuckoo is around the Spring Festival. The main flowering period of the four seasons cuckoo is around the Spring Festival, and it can also blossom at other times as long as the maintenance is reasonable and the environment is suitable.

1. East cuckoo and west cuckoo

Although China is the origin of rhododendron, there are many local rhododendron species. However, many of the azaleas we watch come from abroad. Generally speaking, there are two ways for them to enter China, one is to breed and cross from Japan, and then into China, and the other is to enter China from Europe. We generally call the cuckoo that enters our country from Japan as the east cuckoo, and the cuckoo that enters our country from Europe as the west cuckoo.

The florescence of both is in winter and spring, but the flowering time of East Cuckoo can be a little earlier, about after New Year's Day. The cuckoo blossoms later and blossoms around the Spring Festival.

2. Rhododendron of the four seasons

In recent years, we can often see a variety of rhododendron called rhododendron in the market, which has no fixed flowering period. Its main florescence is similar to that of the western cuckoo, around the Spring Festival. In addition, as long as the maintenance is reasonable and the environment is suitable, it can also blossom at other times, but the number of flowering is not as good as the main flowering period. However, in general, when the summer temperature is above 30 ℃, it will no longer blossom. It can blossom in a cool environment.
