What about the yellow leaves of Cymbidium

Last Updated: 2024/11/22, Appropriate light: the magnolia is easy to produce yellow leaves after strong light exposure, which needs to be astigmatic or shaded; reduce the amount of water: stagnant water will affect root respiration, need to change the watering method, see dry re-watering; appropriate fertilization: fertilizer is too thick or unfermented will lead to yellow leaves, the use of mature fertilizer or appropriate dilution. If it is aging normally, cut off the yellow leaves.

1. Astigmatism irradiation

Reason: Cymbidium is a semi-negative plant, exposure to strong light will cause its leaves to burn, and then the leaves turn yellow.

Solution: the plant can be moved from a place with strong light such as a balcony to a position where the light is relatively soft, or shaded.

2. Supplementary lighting

Reason: gentleman orchid likes light and is afraid of strong light, if the light is not enough, it will lead to insufficient photosynthesis, slow growth and yellow leaves.

Solution: to ensure a certain amount of light, the magnolia can be placed in the light for a long time in winter, and by the north window in the hot summer, so that you can see the light in the morning and evening.

3. Reduce the amount of water

Reason: too much watering will lead to stagnant water in the basin, poor breathing of plant roots, lack of oxygen, poor growth and yellowing of leaves.

Solution: when watering, pour thoroughly once, see dry and then pour. If you water too much at one time, you can move the plant to a ventilated and dry place or pad the flowerpot high to speed up the volatilization of water.

4. Appropriate fertilization

Reason: excessive concentration of fertilizer or direct application of raw fertilizer will burn the roots of the plant and lead to yellow leaves.

Solution: after diluting the cake fertilizer or composting the raw fertilizer, add it to the basin soil to reduce the number of fertilization.

5. Points for attention

(1) prevent diseases and insect pests: if the plant is attacked by the virus, it will lead to local yellowing and macular formation, and drugs should be sprayed in time.

(2) normal growth: the orchid will age normally after 3 years, and it is normal for the outer leaves to turn yellow, as long as the aging outer leaves are cut off.
