Pecan fruit, also known as American pecan, longevity fruit, long live fruit, etc., is a walnut tree plant, native to the United States and northern Mexico of North America, has become one of the world's dried fruit species, China's Hebei, Henan, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Sichuan and other places have cultivation, let's take a look at the price of Pecan fruit seedlings and planting methods!

How much does a pecan tree cost?

The price of Pecan seedlings is about 10~12 yuan, which is available in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Henan and other places, but the price varies greatly due to the specifications, market and purchase quantity of seedlings. Pecan fruit is generally sown in the first year, grafted in the spring of the second year, transplanted in autumn, and can sprout in the autumn and winter of the third year. The seedlings begin to bear fruit about three years after planting, and can achieve high yield in five years. The flowering period is April to May, and the fruit period is July to November.

Conditions for planting pecans

1. Temperature: Bigen fruit likes warm and humid climate, the annual average temperature is 15.2℃, the highest temperature is 41.7℃, it is cold-resistant,-15℃ is not subject to freezing damage, but the flowering period will affect the flowering pollination and flower development.

2. Moisture: Different climatic periods in the year require different moisture requirements, spring shoot growth period before flowering requires proper rainfall, flowering period avoids continuous rain, fruit and naked bud development period requires sufficient and uniform rainfall.

3. Light: Pecan fruit is not too demanding on light, and requires a cool environment in its infancy. Therefore, artificial shade is required when Pecan fruit is raised, and adult trees grow poorly on sunny dry slopes.

4. Soil: It is best to plant Pecan fruit with black soil, yellow soil developed on limestone and yellow soil developed on sandstone, slate and shale. Red soil and sand are not suitable for planting Pecan fruit.

The propagation method of Pecan fruit

1, sowing: Bigenguo spring and autumn can be sown, but autumn sowing is not as safe as spring sowing, autumn sowing is usually in the autumn soil before freezing can be sown, spring sowing should be early, can be sown in mid-March, but the seeds must be sand storage treatment.

2. Grafting: The rootstock used for grafting is generally walnut. The scion is collected on the fine individual plant, and the full and healthy developing branch with a length of 30~40 cm and a thickness of 1~1.5 cm at the periphery of the crown is selected as the bud.

3, cuttage: Bigenguo cuttage propagation usually choose 1 year old strong branches, cuttings 17~20 cm long, ordinary methods of cuttage, survival rate is usually more than 90%.

4, root insertion: green root fruit cuttings combined with seedlings out of the nursery to collect roots, and then false planting, spring, seed root diameter 1 cm, length 10 cm, to bed insertion is appropriate, the upper cut of the root must be buried 0.5~1 cm below the bed surface.

5, layering: green root dormant period of the strong branches of the mother plant roots pressed into the soil, after a period of time that can take root, and then the branches and mother plants separated, transplanted and then cultured.

How to grow pecans

1. Soil preparation and fertilization: Pecan fruit planting should be planted on a plot with deep soil layer, loose soil layer, sufficient water source and leeward sun. After digging holes, put a layer of straw at the bottom of the pit, add 50kg organic fertilizer, 20g of A enemy powder, 500g calcium superphosphate and mix well with soil.

2. Transplanting and planting: The transplanting of Pecan fruit shall be carried out after defoliation or before germination. The big seedlings shall have mud balls. The 1~2-year-old seedlings shall keep more lateral roots and fibrous roots and dip them in mud in time. In the young tree period, especially before winter of the planting year, attention shall be paid to measures such as burying soil and cultivating soil piles.

3. Pruning: The early pruning of Bigen fruit should be light, and more main branches should be left properly to make it bear fruit early. During pruning, the inner bore of the crown should be ventilated and transparent. The upper branches of the early crown should be preserved as much as possible, and the lower part of the crown can be thinned gradually.

4. Cultivation and weeding: soybean, corn and atractylodes macrocephala can be intercropped within 1~3 years after the establishment of the garden. In the intercropping process, the garden should be cultivated and weeded, and organic fertilizers such as burnt mud, cake fertilizer and manure should be applied appropriately.

5. Fertilization and fruit protection: Before germination of Bigen fruit in spring every year, urea is applied about 30 kg per mu, special fertilizer for fruit trees is applied 80 kg during fruit expansion period, base fertilizer is applied 3000 kg in autumn, and fertilizer is applied according to the results after entering the fruiting period.

6. Disease and pest control: The main diseases and insect pests of Pecan fruit include hickory branch blight, star longicorn, green thorn moth, coffee wood moth, etc. Focus on the prevention and control of orchard diseases and insect pests in winter, and timely prevent and cure them according to the occurrence of diseases and insect pests during the growth period.
