On the morning of the 20th, Interior Minister Ye Junrong personally presided over the signing ceremony of the Agreement on Cooperation in Geodesy and Spatial Information surveying and Mapping between China and Indonesia. It was also signed by Chen Zhong, representative of the Taipei Economic and Trade Representative Office in Indonesia, and Robert, representative of the Indonesian Economic and Trade Representative Office in Taipei. Minister Ye Junrong said that the signing of the surveying and mapping cooperation agreement is the first transnational cooperation agreement signed by Taiwan on surveying and mapping work. Apart from continuing to work with Indonesia in the field of surveying and mapping, it will also actively expand the territory of transnational cooperation to facilitate the further development of surveying and mapping work.
The Ministry of the Interior pointed out that in order to implement the government's new southward policy, the "2017 New Southward Mapping and Spatial Information International Forum" was held on July 10 this year to support the domestic launch of the "surveying and Mapping and Spatial Information Industry-University southward Cooperation platform" through practical actions. to promote cross-border industry-government cooperation in spatial surveying and mapping and accelerate the development of the ASEAN region, the Director of the Trade Department of the Indonesian Economic and Trade Representative Office in Taipei was also present to pay tribute. And discuss the ideas of future cooperation between the two sides, which will lead to the signing of this agreement.
The Ministry of the Interior stressed that this agreement is the first time that Taiwan and Indonesia have established cooperative relations in the field of surveying and mapping. The contents of the agreement are jointly discussed and drafted by both sides and signed after approval and approval by the Executive Yuan, mainly in the field of geodesy and spatial information mapping. Cooperation items include human resources development, technology and equipment mutual support and other related scientific, economic, trade and industrial development. It is very helpful to promote the cooperation and development, mutual consultation and technical exchange in the field of surveying and mapping in Taiwan and Indonesia, and to foster Chinese industry to open up the Indonesian market.
