Recently, due to the increasingly serious air pollution situation, in order to strengthen air pollution control, the Chiayi County government, witnessed by the county magistrate Zhang Huaguan and environmentalists, officially unveiled the bulletin board of the clean air quality area outside the Lucao incineration plant on December 26. The clean air area of the Lucao incinerator will begin comprehensive control, representing the further upgrading of the environmental quality of Chiayi County.
The government of Chiayi County announced the "Control measures for Diesel vehicles in the Clean Air quality area of the Lucao Incineration Plant in Chiayi County" from September 21. After a three-month promotion period, the Deer Grass Incineration Plant will become the third clean air quality area in Chiayi County after Alishan and the South Court of the Imperial Palace. Diesel vehicles that have not received five standard inspection and approval permits from January next year will not be allowed to enter the Lucao incinerator area. The EPA estimates that fine suspended particulates (PM2.5) can be reduced by up to 5.8 metric tons per year.
"Prevention is better than cure, and solving the problem at the source is the fundamental way," said Zhang Huaguan, the county magistrate. Chiayi County can do its homework to strengthen air pollution control. After the first Alishan clean air area in the country, there is another clean air area of the first incinerator in the country. In the future, more clean air quality areas will be set up to protect people's health, and work together to maintain the beautiful pure land of Chiayi County.
Yan Xuming, director of environmental protection, said that Chiayi County is also promoting subsidies for the elimination of old and large diesel vehicles, ranging from 50 to 400000 yuan depending on the age and weight of the vehicles, and about 70 to 150000 yuan for the installation of smoke filters for three large diesel vehicles. The Environmental Protection Bureau will strictly check and maintain empty products to ensure public health.
