Watering flowers is the basic requirement of growing flowers, but because it is easy to operate or busy with other things, many friends who grow flowers do not pay much attention to this point. Either regard the flowers as a "leftover water recycler", or do not know how long it will take to water the flowers and directly fill them with a pot of tap water. As everyone knows, this way of watering flowers will cause very bad consequences! Now that it is the height of summer when the sun is burning in the sky, the author would like to give you a few points to pay attention to in watering flowers this season:

First: learn to tell whether plants are short of water.

In fact, raising plants is similar to raising a child, and you need to pay attention to them from time to time. For example, you should take more time to see if your flowers and plants have withered and yellow leaves, wilted and lethargic, and whether the soil in the flowerpot is dry and cracked, especially in summer, when water evaporates quickly. If the above situation occurs, it is basically a signal of water shortage in plants.

Second, you should seize the time to water, not if you want to.

Here, I would like to remind you that when you find that plants are short of water, don't water them immediately. The scientific approach is to find a cool place to put the plants in there for a while, cool them down, and then water them. Otherwise, the temperature changes so fast that it will be difficult to survive if the plant roots cannot adapt. In addition, the ideal time to water plants is usually in the morning (before 8 o'clock) and in the evening (after 8 o'clock), but if the flowers are watered at noon with the highest temperature, as just said, the plants will not be able to adapt for a while, but will be watered down.

Third: water for watering flowers needs to be exposed to the sun.

In general, the temperature of the newly received tap water is low, and there is a big difference between the cool water and the temperature heated by the sun in the flowerpot, if it is not dried, it is directly used to water the flowers directly. not only will it not be effectively absorbed by plants (because plant roots will protect themselves in case of a sudden low temperature, refusing to absorb low temperature water), but will lose more water from the plant itself (although hot plants will defend themselves against low temperature water). But transpiration is still going on, and plants will wither or even die.

Fourth: create a cool summer environment for plants

Water evaporates quickly in summer, in addition to replenishing water to plants in time, we also need to find ways to slow down the rate of water evaporation. For example, don't let the sun shine directly on the plants (you can put some hay in the flowerpot to prevent strong sunlight), and sprinkle water around the plants to make the air less dry, which is good for plant growth.

The most important thing to grow flowers in summer is to replenish water in time, water them scientifically, and at the same time give flowers and plants a cool and humid environment, so that they can continue to bloom beautifully in the middle of summer and add some freshness to life.
