Yesterday (6), New North Mayor Zhu Lilun promoted fruits and vegetables to the Banqiao Farmers' Association to help farmers solve the problem of rising prices and unsalable vegetables and fruits after the market was closed. Mayor Zhu Lilun pointed out that as the auction market has been closed for three consecutive days and the price of the producing area is low, in order to avoid cheap vegetables and hurt farmers, the municipal government has expanded its procurement of producing areas and stimulated consumption through various direct purchase and direct marketing methods. It was originally expected to sell 188 metric tons of fresh fruits and vegetables in these two days, but the public response is enthusiastic.
