One-leaf orchid, also known as spider egg, alias bamboo leaf plate, big leaf evergreen, bamboo tendon, Kowloon plate and so on, Liliaceae, spider egg-holding genus, is a perennial evergreen herb. One-leaf orchid with stout creeping rhizomes, simple leaves basal, up to 70cm long, hard, narrow base to form a long sulcate petiole. Single flower at leaf base, perianth campanulate, brownish purple, capsule. The natural flowering period is from April to May and the fruit ripening stage is from June to August.

1. Hydroponic method

The main results are as follows: (1) 3-5 leaves with new buds were cut from the stolon of Cymbidium, and the plant was directly immersed in a container with nutrient solution, which was diluted properly at the initial stage of hydroponic culture.

(2) the stem of Cymbidium is short and strong, the leaf is straight and slender, and the nutrient solution is not consumed much. Add fresh water once every 7-10 days in summer and renew the nutrient solution once every 30-60 days. The initial liquid level of the nutrient solution should not be too high, just immerse the root system. With the growth of fleshy aquatic roots, the nutrient solution could be reduced to 2 beat 3 of the immersed roots. The hydroponic one-leaf orchid is shown in the picture.

2. Maintenance guidelines

The main results are as follows: (1) the orchid has strong adaptability to light and temperature, shade and cold tolerance, and can be cultivated in bright indoor for a long time, or moved to outdoor semi-shade or under other plants after the beginning of spring. Do not expose yourself to the sun in summer. When new leaves grow in spring, put them in a place with plenty of light. When cultivated in the north, it should be moved indoors before winter, and the temperature should be controlled below 25 ℃, so as to prevent the leaves from losing their luster due to the high room temperature.

(2) in the peak growth period of spring and summer, manure is often applied with mature cake fertilizer or soil fertilizer, usually once every 10-15 days.

(3) watering water to cultivate a leaf orchid needs to remove dust from the leaves regularly, and can be sprayed with water or wiped with a cloth. When the air is dry, a small amount of water can be sprayed to the leaves and the ground.
